Wordless Wednesdays

I have decided to start wordless Wednesdays... instead of blogging for the day I will just share a picture, or two and maybe a quick caption. Enjoy!

Let freedom ring...

So for the third year in a row our family went over to the Matlock 4th of July BBQ. They have about 25-40 people that come, each family grills their own meat and everyone brings a salad or dessert to share. They have blow up toys, or games for everyone, and then at night they do their own fireworks! It just a great time to be out and enjoy everyones company!

Allergic reactions & extreme heat!

Well the day after Jace tried bananas for the first time, I figured I would give them to him again seeing he did great the first night and really liked them. I waited till it was closer to dinner time to give him more. However when I tried to feed him them, he kept pushing the spoon away or when he did get a mouth full he would spit them out. After just a few minutes of trying, I figured he either was not hungry or just did not like them. I took him and cleaned him off and noticed his cheeks were rashy and rosy red, this worried me but I thought it may be due to the heat... and then when I changed his diaper he had a horrible diaper rash. Only to then notice he had 3 red dry itchy spots. I took this as the sign that he was allergic to the bananas, that was the only need food I introduced him to. Jace is better now, no more rashes and the diaper rash is almost gone. Trying foods can be so scary, you never know what can happen. Its a good thing I stick to the 4 day rule. (1 new food and for 4 days you give them that same food, and wait to see if there is any allergic reaction, this way you know what food was given last and can pinpoint it) In the midst of all that, the temperature here has reached in the triple digits, YUCK! It makes getting out and doing anything impossible. Its even too hot to play in the backyard. Last night at 8pm it was 96 degrees out. So most of the days Jace has been playing in his diaper only or a thin onesie. Remind me again why we live in a house with no central air conditioning!!!
