First Haircut

Well after 15 months Jace got his first hair cut. Let me tell you, 12 months ago I would have never believed this day would come. In all honesty Jace was a baldy for his first year of life. But it was time, he had some stragglers and it just needed a trim. I was excited to do it in California so my mom and aunt could share this first with us too. I had a coupon for a first hair cut place by my aunt in Chino so we went there (who knew first hair cuts were so expensive?!) the place was cute. It was catered to little kids only. Jace picked to sit in a red sports car, although he was eyeing the pink Barbie jeep haha! He was really good throughout the cut, but he did like to look around and watch the other kids! I love his big boy hair cut!!

Water fountain fun

Yesterday my mom, my sister and I took the babes to Victoria Gardens to let them play in the water sprinklers. They absolutely loved it! Unfortunately after just a bit a group of rowdy older kids came so we had to make the little ones leave but I think they enjoyed themselves for the time being.

Livin the life California style

So Jace took full advantage of being "on vacation". He woke up this morning and picked out his own breakfast, he had an apple sauce squeeze pouch and chocolate pudding. Then cousin Kassidy came over in the morning, and Jace was so excited to have a playmate. After lunch they each had a ring pop (which was jace's first one). Then we had a BBQ with the family for my grandmas birthday/memorial day. Ashtyn and Jace played in the little baby pool and it was so great to watch them together. I know he has missed her, he walks around saying Ash? Ash? So it was great to see them playing. Cousins really do make life better.

I'm leaving on a jet plane

So yesterday Jace and I flew into California to surprise my grandma for her 70th birthday party! I've known for two weeks that we were coming out but had to keep it on the down low so that the surprise wouldn't get out! It was so hard keeping it from family and friends but in the end it was so worth it seeing my Grandmas reaction to us standing in front of her! Rewind a bit, we got to the airport at 6:40 and the whole process was a piece of a cake. I was really worried about traveling alone with Jace. He's such a great boy, but sometimes you just never know with him. Let alone trying to manage through airport security and juggling our bags. The whole thought stressed me out for days. Luckily it was so much easier than I had expected. Everyone from airport workers, to the virgin airlines staff, to random strangers were so helpful! Not to mention Chicago O'hare is such an easy airport. Jace was wonderful on the flight. Our flight was pretty empty so the two ladies that were supposed to sit next to us offered to switch so Jace could have his own row to roam around on. The ladies across from us loved playing with Jace and were really helpful (one even offered to let us play on her laptop) the man in first class ahead of us offered to buy us food since everything was included in his seat, another lady offered to buy me a drink and the flight attendants loved playing with Jace. They came and checked on us multiple times, offered to hold Jace if I needed to use the restroom, or warm up any food. The whole experience was just great. I even got a compliment from an older gentlemen saying that Jace was the most well behaved child he had ever seen. Jace fell asleep after two hours and slept until we landed. Once we got to LAX though they couldn't find my stroller which should have been waiting for me off of the terminal, and they had all of the elevators closed. It was a madhouse. So when I finally got to my family 20 minutes after landing I surprised them by coming from outside and sneaking up behind them! On the way home we stopped fast at in n out which I had been craving since we left California.

Fast forward 4 hours: we went to my aunt Barbara's house for my grandmas surprise party. We had decided to stay in the back when she came in so then she would see us after the initial shock of the surprise. At first she just hugged me and moved on. I figured she had found out about us coming so it wasn't too big of a deal. Well 5 minute later it finally hit her that Jace and I were actually here and she went crazy. She kept screaming and hugging me. It was so wonderful. I missed her so much. And I know she was so excited to see Jace. I loved being able to see all of my family and celebrate the most beautiful woman I know.

Splish splash I was taking a bath...

So Jace loves, LOVES, his bath time. He will stay in the bath until he decides it's time to get out. Well today after an incident with him taking his diaper off after he woke up from his nap and pooping in his crib/ everywhere, we had to put him in the bath to clean up. Jace of course loved a middle of the day bath and was content playing in there for a while. Well after twenty minutes I finally had to take him out. He would not get out, so I thought I would drain the water... Well apparently Jace still didn't want to get out because for five more minutes he sat in the empty tub playing and laughing. Gotta love my water boy.

A happy boy makes for a happy mama

So I had to run to target to get some almond milk and a travel toothbrush holder. The toothbrush holder was actually for the bendy straws I carry in my bag for Jace. They always get smashed in there and saw a picture of keeping them in the toothbrush holder for safe keeping, genius! Since we were already out I figure we might as well grab dinner out. I wanted to go somewhere with a play place so Jace could run around. We went with McDonald's. We had never been to the inside of the one by our house and to our surprise they had the best play place. They had a great climbing section only for toddlers, a large one for kids with three different slides, and a game room with an air hockey table and arcade games. Jace absolutely loved letting loose in there. I'm so glad he was able to run around for a bit. I love seeing him have fun, and I'm sure it's a great change from climbing up the couch. =]

Fun in the sun

Yesterday was a pretty hot day, 90 degrees. Yikes. So after church (which i think we finally found our home church, yay) we thought we would go to the bass pro shop to cool off. Well after that got old i thought we should soak up some vitamin D so once we got home we brought out the hose for some sprinkler action and Jace's water table. He absolutely loved it.
